Highlights make your hair look really pretty if they are natural looking highlights, so I don't think there out of style

No its not. You really shouldn't go by the celebs to much. Usually whats popular has nothing to do with the celebs. They wear things and do things that nobody would in real life. I usually just go by what everybody around me seems to be into and what looks good on me. It's not really the stile, its the person its on. I have highlights and most of my friends do and they look great. Besides in hollywood thye have to keep everything new. They can't keep the same style verry long. Theres a difference between the real world and Hollywood

Celebs don't have 1 colored hair!
It is several colors mixed together in hightlights/lowlights to get that look! If you meet famous people in real life, their hair doesn't look like that. Not even famous guys. That's just lousy photographic illusions.

i think the highlighted hair look is getting completely played out. i appreciate people like rihanna who are trying to change it up a little bit. i actually think a lot of people are trying out black hair. that seems to be a new trend in hollywood hair.
It's terribly tacky to have huge sections highlighted. Most people have little highlights and lowlights to look natural. Besides, what's so great about celebrity style anyways? Go and make your own style.
Yes, that is certainly popular at the moment. Solid hair colors styled slightly wavy or 70's inspired. Yet, of course people still get highlights. Personally, I prefer solid colors.
If it looks good on you, you should totally go for it. Don't really worry about what's in style, but at least try to stay current. If you have them right now, and think they look great, you should keep them. =]
Celebrities are still highlighting just not the obvious stripey look that finally trickled down to the masses. The highlighting celebrities are doing are more subtle. They will use colors that are related to the dominant color but are only a step or so away on the color chart. This gives the hair a lift that will, with right cut, will brighten you up and give you a more youthful appearance
