In Photoshop and in Layer Styles What is : Contour,Satin,Altitude,Highlig鈥?Mode,Use Global Light.?

Hi I need exact technical meaning of these terms which we use in Photoshop Layer Styles. Please give me serious answers. Thanks a lot.In Photoshop and in Layer Styles What is : Contour,Satin,Altitude,Highlig鈥?Mode,Use Global Light.?
I won't be able to give you d exact technical terms, but i'll try my best.

Contour: It is much similar to the actual contour you have over geographical maps. Under the tab, there is a graph, which is adjustable to give you a variation in color (which looks like height difference due to its 3d effect).

Satin: This effect gives kind of a metallic or chrome tone to the layer to which you are applying it. It is completely based on the contour. The more variation in contour you try to bring, the more variation in effect you get.

Altitude: It is found under the Bevel and Emboss tab. As the name suggests, altitude is used to control the height of the emboss you want. The greater the value, the higher altitude.

Highlight Mode: As you have numerous options under the highlight mode, it would be the best if you scroll through them yourself and see the difference. The basic thing is that highlight mode is used to highlight the areas you have embossed or bevelled.

Use Global Light: The light source is taken from all possible sides if this is checked, or a greater part of the layer remains shadowed.
